Winter Conference

February 4-5, 2027 — Detroit Marriott Renaissance Center

MEA’s 2027 Winter Conference will be held, February 4-5, in Detroit at Detroit Renaissance Center, Under the theme of “We Love Public Education: Elevating Leaders, Empowering members, and Advancing Education.” Attendees will take advantage of the expertise and knowledge of MEA presenters, who have geared their sessions to address this year’s three pillars:

Member Engagement
Union Leadership
Community Advocacy.

Together, these pillars advance MEA’s commitment to Building Full Capacity Locals (BFCL) by developing knowledgeable, confident, and engaged local leaders who can strengthen their unions, support their members, and advocate for public education and the education profession.

Any meeting or caucus requests must be submitted using this same form. Including these requests in the RFP process will help us better coordinate space, time, and resources across the conference.

Throughout the year, MEA offers a variety of conferences to allow members to attend high-quality training while networking with peers across the state and sharing ideas about both their profession and their union.

The MEA Winter Conference is the Center for Leadership & Learning’s premier event where members of public education join us for top-tier professional development. Our offerings focus on strengthening skills, developing leadership, and building the bench to better support their role and in their local units. Participants can earn valuable SCECH and ESP credits to continue advancing their certification while gaining practical tools they can immediately apply. Attendees also enjoy engaging in social events where they can relax, network with peers, and recharge. It’s a chance to work hard, play hard, and leave feeling ready for what’s next.
